My entire house is filled with the enticingly delicious aromas of brown sugar, vanilla, jam, coconut and chocolate from my several batches of fresh, home baked goodies. I baked my best ever Chocolate BrowniesOld Fashioned Jam Slice and indulgent Chocolate Fudge Cake and after all that measuring and mixing of sugary ingredients I really felt like something salty – Vegemite on buttery toast!

The first two bits of baking bliss were baked for school events, with the birthday cake being a special treat for a friend’s son.

There has been REAL food, nutritious food as well. I just haven’t had a chance to photograph it before my children devoured the lot. So far this week I have made:

What seems like “millions” of mini meatballs in home simmered Napoletana sauce;
easy tuna, fresh herb, tomato and olive pasta;

Zesty mixed leaf, citrus and avocado salad with barbecued chipolata sausages and a capsicum chat potato bake;

A bench top full of assorted school lunches, morning and afternoon snacks (fruit and cheese selections, apple oat muffins, croissants;

Breakfasts to rival a hotel buffet (traditional porridge, omelette, mixed cereal with fruit and yoghurt);

Lots of little pureed pots of baby food for my infant Maksim – who like his older siblings – has a fondness for good food.

Now, what shall I cook tomorrow?
