Looking forward to twirling my pasta through this Bolognese sauce for dinner

I have just put a big pot brimming with Bolognese sauce into the oven. While the children and I visit a neighbour across the road, this super tasty sauce will slowly simmer over two hours and will be ready just in time for dinner. This is a reliable and easy school holiday meal option because the oven does most of the grunt work. 

As for the dicing and slicing? Well, I left this up to my trusty Magimix food processor, pictured here on my appliance bench. Owning correct, powerful appliances really makes fast work of preparing ingredients and makes home cooking so much more manageable. 


Best of all the large quantity of Bolognese sauce means that there will be ample leftovers for lunch tomorrow. So when one of my children asks me just after breakfast,”What’s for lunch?”, I won’t secretly roll my eyes, take in a breath or hesitate because lunch will be ready and waiting in the fridge requiring reheating only. Ah, what a relief!
