A bowl of home cooked chicken soup really hits the spot when one is unwell. It is a particularly comforting way to combat a cold, especially when prepared and served up with a cuddle.
I made up an enormous pot of my Chicken Soup from Scratch using the same recipe that I posted on the 27th May. I ladled this chunky soup into bowls for lunch alongside wholegrain toast. Some of my children are still at home recovering from a nasty bout of ear and throat infections and they gratefully gobbled up every last spoonful. Their toast triangles were dipped into the broth between each spoonful of soup and used to mop up the last few drops of goodness from the bottom of their bowls.
Chicken Soup from Scratch is easy to east, easy to digest and extremely wholesome, especially when made with organic chicken and loads of fresh veggies. Consider it a sort of super tasty, warming vitamin pill, packed with essential nutrients to help sick kids and adults bounce back to good health.
